Jeffrey N. Johnson

Biography:

I was raised in Virginia along the once rural fringe of Washington D.C., and earned a Bachelor of Architecture in 1986 from Virginia Tech. After practicing for six years I left the profession out of poverty and artistic frustration. While in search for another creative outlet I began writing fiction. My stories have appeared in numerous literary magazines, both in print and on-line, and I've also published a travel essay and photos of my trip to Cambodia. I've traveled extensively in Europe, and visited China, Thailand, Cambodia and Mexico. I was recently awarded a grant from the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, which supported a residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. I've completed my first novel, The Hunger Artist, and a collection of short stories called Home and Abroad. I'm currently working on my second novel, The Want of Molly.
